The Values Behind the Verbiage

As one reads the many chapters and books dedicated to the teaching of the Law, it is easy to get bogged down in all the details and yet completely miss the reason or purpose behind the teaching. That is, we can miss God's heart when we focus only on His words. What if we instead read the Law through the filter of, "WHAT is God trying to say to us, to me?" or "WHY did He ask Moses to record this for us?"
